TOTM (Tris (2-Ethylhexyl) Trimellitate) is a primary branched monomeric plasticizer for vinyl homopolymer and copolymer resins.
TOTM is suggested for use in those end-use areas where extreme low volatility is required. These applications include wire and cable insulation and interior automotive.
TOTM is however, costlier than other plasticizers and PVC processors seek economical options.
Solution:
ThermoMech is a partial replacement of TOTM. It can be used to replace TOTM by almost 50% with out affecting any properties in the compound.
On kg. to kg. basis, ThermoMech offers nearly 40 % saving over TOTM.
