Recycling – Commodity Plastics

Polymer recycling is the process of recovering scrap or waste polymers and reprocessing the material into useful products, sometimes completely different in form from their original state.

For instance, this could mean melting down PET soft drink bottles and then casting them as polyester fibers which could be used as filling for the pillows.

Polymer recycliing process

A key step in the polymer recycling is the extrusion of waste polymer into strands/pellets. Before this, the polymer waste is sorted, washed and dried.

Very often the process of washing during recycling leads to traces of moisture remaining in the polymer. These are removed by chemical desiccants – a range of which is offered by Vin Industries.

Vin Industries has gained extensive experience since 1997 working with various processors in number of applications, using almost all commonly used polymers. This has led us to create a product / grade template where in each product has been created keeping in mind the unique processing requirements of each polymer.
