Butyl Rubber Processing

Background :

Butyl rubber is a synthetic rubber, a copolymer of isobutylene with isoprene. Butyl rubber has excellent impermeability, and the long polyisobutylene segments of its polymer chains give it good flex properties. Butyl rubber is impermeable to air – making it an ideal candidate for tire inner tubes.

Problem :

Sulfur does not disperse very well in Butyl rubber. This leads to batch to batch variations and higher scrap rates.

Solution :

CureWel S - the Sulfur curing agent in modified damp powder form ensures uniform dispersion and curing of the Butyl Rubber. Consistency of properties is maintained.
